Learn about Sustainable Buildings at May's Climate Webinar

Celebrate Building Safety Month and Raleigh's Community Climate Action Plan

In celebration of Building Safety Month and the release of the Community Climate Action Plan, the City of Raleigh will host a Building Sustainability webinar on May 11 at 12 p.m.

Building codes are society's best way of protecting homes, offices, schools, manufacturing facilities, stores and entertainment venues. Code officials work day in and day out to keep the public safe. Building Safety Month celebrates advances in constructing safe, sustainable, affordable and resilient buildings and homes around the world.

This webinar will focus on:

  • energy and innovation, one of the four main themes of this year’s Building Safety Month, and
  • how energy efficiency in buildings can help Raleigh meet its climate action goals, keep occupants comfortable and safe, and save money for residents and businesses.
  • We will discuss North Carolina’s Clean Energy Plan, building and energy policy, and energy initiatives and programs for businesses and residents.

Fifty-six percent of Raleigh’s greenhouse gas emissions come from how we produce and use energy in our buildings. Adopting energy efficiency standards and practices will reduce the amount of energy we consume and the overall cost of occupancy. Businesses and residents alike can learn about how to make their homes and commercial properties.

Come and learn about state-wide innovations in energy and how these will help Raleigh meet its climate goals! You can register for this event online now!
