Arts Access, in partnership with the City of Raleigh's Block Gallery, is excited to host an exhibition titled Art Unblocked 2021 from March 3 to May 14, 2021. The exhibition features works of art created by emerging and established artists with disabilities.
Art Unblocked 2021 is a part of the Arts Access 2021 Series of Fortunate Events (SOFE), which highlights the diversity and creativity that exists within the disability community. Arts Access uses SOFE as a platform to promote the work of artists and performers with disabilities.
How to See the Exhibition

- Visit the Block Gallery Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:15 p.m. Visitors must undergo a quick health screening at the front desk upon arrival and practice the Three Ws.

It Happened One Night

The moon was so bright, so lovely and I was out walking my dog. I kept looking at the light of the sky and the dark of the trees and the way the moon shone through. This collage places the moon among the images of buildings and industrial scenes.
Beautiful Pink Moon

This evening we specifically walked out to see the “pink moon” that had not been seen in years. One of those rare solar events…what struck me was the pink glowing halo around the moon. The fun of the collage was using the materials to make the moon and then the word “beautiful” from magazine print to describe what I saw.
The Art of Sunshine

The Art of Sunshine” is an acrylic painting on canvas, measuring 11 x 14. The entire canvas is filled with vivid, bold colors and lines that intersect into triangles of many different shapes and sizes. The painting inspires a sense of brightness.
Desert View

A desert view transitioning from nighttime on the left to daytime on the right. On the left nighttime animals prowl in the desert and on the right daytime animals are out and about. There are a couple of cactus one with an owl that often lives in the cactus, a flowering cactus with a small flying bird.

The painting is on a cotton canvas, and it is framed in a white simple one. A goat is in lilac color and cast with number 67 in gold pen all over it. There are two round object around the goat, and the one in the bottom in front of the goat is a soccer ball, painted in silver and cast with number 22 in pink. Those numbers are much smaller than 67 on the goat and patterns are created. The other round object is at the upper right of the goat and painted in pink. This round is perhaps represent the sun. The 95 is casted in the rounds with silver paints. Goat is smiling. Back ground is painted in bright yellow and number 19 is casted all around.
