Western BRT - Urban Design Opportunities

Virtual Engagement Opportunity for Bus Rapid Transit: Western Blvd. Corridor

Want to learn more about the future of transit in Raleigh? Love the idea of rapid bus transportation between Raleigh and Cary? Then don’t miss out on this exciting engagement opportunity: Visit the virtual engagement webpage for the Wake Bus Rapid Transit (BRT): Western Boulevard Corridor Study!

The Western Blvd. corridor will provide fast, reliable public transit from downtown Raleigh to downtown Cary. The goals of the Wake BRT: Western Blvd. Corridor Study are to:

  • Identify a preferred alternative alignment for BRT.
  • Understand the development potential along the Western Blvd. corridor.
  • Generate consensus for a conceptual land use strategy for the corridor.
  • Identify and address safety concerns.
  • Coordinate with other planned improvements.

The project webpage currently features several virtual engagement opportunities including background information, status updates on the project, and an overview of the land use capacity analysis, transit-oriented development, and urban design opportunities.

Have questions? Attend a virtual Q&A session with the project team on September 30 at 7 p.m. Stay tuned for more details on the event on the project webpage.
