Mayor's Commission on Compassion

Founded in 2019, the Mayor’s Commission on Compassion (MCC) advises the Mayor and City Council on matters of compassion; encourages and aids in the appreciation and awareness of, and practice of compassion; and in cooperation with other City agencies and partners works to formulate a long-range plan for the development of a thriving compassionate climate in Raleigh.

Third Thursday of each month (except December)

Mission Statement
To create a City of Compassion, we turn strangers into neighbors, and foster emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being of all life. We accomplish this through mutual respect, kindness and understanding.

Additionally, the MCC also collaborates with the Charter for Compassion.
