Do I qualify for rental assistance?
Raleigh residents must meet the following criteria:
- Have had your income impacted by COVID-19
- Behind on your rent and at risk of becoming homeless
- Have a household income at or below 80%AMI
AMI stands for Area Median Income. It is calculated and released every year by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Mortgage and utility payments paid on behalf of borrower directly to mortgage and utility providers.
Do I qualify for mortgage assistance?
To qualify Raleigh residents must meet the following criteria:
- Have had your income impacted by COVID-19
- At risk of foreclosure
- Have household income at or below 50% AMI

Homeless Seeking Housing
If you are homeless, you can apply for financial assistance to help you find rental housing.
What kind of help is available?
Security deposit and/or application fees, and utility payments to landlords and utility providers for moving from homelessness to a rental.
Do I qualify?
You can qualify for assistance if you are a Raleigh resident:
- Are currently homeless or living in a hotel
- Whose household income is at or below 50% AMI
