What plants do bees like? Do butterflies like flowers? What in the world is a “Bug Hotel”?
Come find those answers and more at Pollinator Palooza – hosted at Lake Lynn Community Center in conjunction with Brier Creek Community Center. Learn about our favorite pollinators and what you can do to make these buggy friends feel more comfortable in your home gardens.
This program will feature special guests from Raleigh Parks Crews and our Nature Programs division. Families will rotate between stations where they will learn about pollinators, butterflies, what you can plant at home, and will get a chance to enhance our pollinator garden here at Lake Lynn by planting plants that they love. Families will also get the opportunity to plant their own seeds to take and replant at home to get their spaces more “pollinator-friendly”. We will also have craft kits to take home to add to the fun! Pre-registration is required for each child up to 12 years old; however, parents are highly encouraged to attend with their kids. Parents do not need to register.
When: Thursday, May 13, 4:30-5:30 p.m. and 6-7 p.m. (choose one time slot)
Ages: Up to 12 years old
Cost: $7 per child
