Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is coming to Raleigh. Good design for streets and nearby development is essential for BRT to be a success.
What does this mean for you?
The City will apply a Transit Overlay District (TOD) to the zoning map. This rezoning will support housing affordability and walkability around BRT stations. There will also be a new street design for streets with BRT service to make a special lane for buses. You can learn about these proposed changes at either of two public meetings:
