Patrick Buffkin

District A Council Member

Patrick Buffkin represents District A and was first elected to the Raleigh City Council in 2019.

He serves as vice-chair of the Transportation and Transit Committee and is a member of the Safe, Healthy and Vibrant Community Committee. Prior to joining the City Council, he was a member of the City’s Parks, Recreation, and Greenway Advisory Board. 
Council Member Buffkin practices law at his own law firm, where he focuses on renewable energy and utilities issues. He earned his undergraduate degree in business management from North Carolina State University, and his Juris Doctor degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law.

Council Member Buffkin has lived in Raleigh for more than 20 years and is as a member of the Kiwanis Club of Raleigh. He enjoys riding his bike on Raleigh greenway trails and visiting City Parks. He is married to Rachael Buffkin and they have a cat, Jones, and two dogs, Dixon and Lily.
