Water and Sewer Bill Assistance:

WakeHELPS offers financial assistance for utility customers

In response to the economic hardships caused by the COVID19 pandemic, Wake County has partnered with area municipalities to make $5 million available to help pay utility bills for qualified County residents.  The funds can be used to pay any utility bill, including water and sewer bills, and Raleigh Water customers who may be struggling to pay their utility bill are encouraged to visit the WakeHELPS website or call 919-212-0476.

Raleigh Water took action on March 12 by suspending water service disconnects due to non-payment, waiving late payment fees, and reconnecting accounts previously disconnected.  Disconnections for non-payment are still temporarily discontinued.  Customers struggling to pay their utility bill in full are urged to request a payment plan. In addition the WakeHELPS program, the City also offers a  Utility Customer Assistance Program for customers that qualify for financial aid.
