Outdoor Dining in Downtown Raleigh

Uniquely Raleigh

Beyond Anywhere USA

Raleigh has enjoyed top rankings in countless economic surveys for many years. Raleigh has built a reputation for business climate and technology leadership, with world class universities nearby, and a deep, tech-savvy talent base.  Local success stories include Red Hat, Citrix, and Pendo.  The entrepreneurial ecosystem here continues to draw interest, with collaborative coworking and maker spaces like HQ Raleigh, The Loading Dock, The Pink Ceiling, Nest Raleigh, Imurj, and The Locality / Flourish MarketWeWork is also here, hosting Bunker Labs, an innovative coworking ecosystem with veterans in residence.

It’s no secret that people keep visiting and moving here - but it’s not just because of our well-known tech opportunities.  Raleigh is special.  A rich culture built on the arts and entertainment, along with an innovative ecosystem truly sets our city apart from “Anywhere USA”.  People come here to be “Uniquely Raleigh”.

Our revitalized downtown core has become a vibrant gathering space for a diverse urban population.  Live music, free festivals, night markets, and pop up events create an exciting climate of discovery.

Our local “Brewconomy” is strong, with dozens of craft breweries and tap rooms all around Raleigh.  One of our biggest springtime festivals, Brewgaloo, was recently voted #1 Craft Beer Festival in America by USA Today.

Speaking of festivals, Raleigh hospitality attracts visitors from all over the world for our signature events like Dreamville, Hopscotch, IBMA World of Bluegrass, Artsplosure, and the African American Cultural Festival.  Countless food truck rodeos, parades, cultural events, and the North Carolina State Fair round out a lively event calendar.

We attract devoted “foodies” with a constellation of excellent restaurants (and diners and dives).  Right here in Raleigh, you will find James Beard Award winner Ashley Christenson, along with two of the Top-100 Restaurants in America, Brewery Bhavana and Crawford & Sons.  Meanwhile, fresh local produce is abundant at the North Carolina Farmers Market.

Nature and recreation fans love our abundant green space, with over 100 miles of greenway trails, and our city’s crown jewel, the 308 Acre Dix ParkNorth Carolina’s Mountains-To-Sea trail runs right through Raleigh, and we enjoy recreational access to the Neuse River and several lakes.  For a more curated green experience, Raleigh citizens enjoy the JC Raulston Arboretum.

Cultural attractions are always a draw, including the State Capitol, NC Museums of History and Natural Sciences, the NC Symphony, NC Opera, and Carolina Ballet, along with the park campus and galleries of the North Carolina Museum of Art.

For sports fans, NC State University offers a full slate of athletic programs for spectators, along with classic local ACC rivalries.  Don’t miss the HBCU spirit that energizes Downtown, at Shaw University and St Augustine’s UniversityNHL Hockey and 2019 NWSL Soccer champions NC Courage also call our area their home, along with the North Carolina Football Club.

And finally, you’ll discover that it’s not just our energy that people love.  It’s our heart.  From creating community and healthy food at A Place At The Table, to preparing the next generation of talent at  District C, to epic concert fundraising by Band Together, there is always a way to lend a hand and pay it forward.

These attractions and so many more make us Uniquely Raleigh.

This is why people come here.  This is why they stay.  All are welcome here.  Especially you.
