Pieces of Grief is a seven-segment audio project by Felix Obelix (aka Wendy Spitzer). As a sonic meditation on grief and loss, it integrates field recordings, anonymous voicemails, archival interviews, and original music. It is intended to be listened to in quiet contemplation while walking the trails of Durant Nature Preserve in Raleigh, North Carolina, or in any quiet, natural area.

Felix Obelix (aka Wendy Spitzer) conceived, researched, recorded, and produced Pieces of Grief. She also composed, performed, and recorded all of the original music and took all field recordings at the Durant Nature Preserve in Raleigh. Most of the spoken words are from anonymous callers to the special voicemail hotline that was set up for this project— the callers responded to prompts, and those responses were then edited, organized, and curated into the seven themes of the piece. Other spoken words were taken from archival interviews in University of North Carolina's Southern Oral History Program’s Interview Database. The final audio was mixed by Barnabas Poffley.
