Eight Areas of Funding Phased Approach Annual Reporting ARPA Funding At Work Resources

Raleigh received 73.2 million that must be spent by December 2026 through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021. It was signed into law by President Joe Biden on March 11, 2021. 

Eight Areas of Funding

There are eight areas of funding that have been identified by the City of Raleigh for ARPA funds. These areas are listed below. Select an area to view details about the associated expenditures.

Phased Approach

There are three phases for ARPA spending. Phase 1 and Phase 2 are complete, Phase 3 is underway.

Phase 1 — August 2021
Phase 2 — six to nine months (September 2021 – July 2022)
Phase 3 — 12+ months (July 2022 – December 2024)

Annual Reporting

The City submits an annual report to the federal government every year. This Recovery Report provides information on the recipient’s projects and how they plan to ensure program outcomes are achieved in an effective and equitable manner.

  • Economic Recovery- $5.4 million 
  • Nonprofit Support- $2.9 million 
  • Housing & Homelessness- $32 million 
  • Community Health- $12.3 million 
  • Community Engagement- $1.3 million 
  • Infrastructure- $5.9 million 
  • Public Safety- $0.8 million 
  • Administrative- $10.6 million
