The City of Raleigh’s Vehicle Fleet Services was named the Number One Fleet in the Nation in 2023, an achievement we would not have been able to accomplish without our outstanding technicians.
Many of our technicians and the work they do in their behind-the-scenes jobs goes unnoticed by the public and even other City of Raleigh departments. Here at Vehicle Fleet Services, we are incredibly proud of the work that our technicians do.
City of Raleigh’s Communication Department creates a series of YouTube videos titled, “This is What I Do”, which highlights staff members and the impact that their work has on our community. They recently posted a video focused on one of our Vehicle Fleet Services Lead Technicians, Sean Warchol. He is a Double Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Technician and takes great pride in the work that he does on our city vehicles. It is no easy feat to become an ASE Master Technician, let alone a Double ASE Master Technician; as it requires hundreds of hours between studying, hands-on labor, technical skill, and test-taking. His duties range from working on compact electric vehicles, to tandem axle dump trucks, and everything in between. As a Lead Technician, our other shop technicians rely on Sean for his knowledge and experience with these vehicles, and he is always willing to lend a helping hand.
This video is a remarkable way to showcase Sean’s creativity and skill, while also highlighting the importance City’s fleet and our service to the City as a whole.
