The Raleigh Police Department (RPD) has implemented a video camera-sharing public safety program to help keep the community safe. The community's voluntary participation is a proactive step to increasing real-time information for data-guided emergency responses.
The camera registry program helps build an interactive map of security cameras in Raleigh that will:
- Be accessible only to the Raleigh Police Department;
- Increase the efficiency of direct video evidence collection;
- Enable communities to work together to create a safer Raleigh; and,
- Provide immediate camera owner contact information for investigators.
