A short section of Benson Road, also known as N.C. 50, between West Main Street and West Garner Road in Garner, is scheduled to reopen to through traffic on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 7 a.m.
The road has been closed since Jan. 25 to accommodate the installation of a 48-inch diameter water transmission main under Benson Road that is for the City of Raleigh’s new Dempsey E. Benton Water Treatment Plant. Completion of the installation has been delayed because of weather. Detour signs are posted to direct and maintain traffic flow around the construction area. Motorists traveling along Benson Road in this area should proceed with caution and be aware of construction traffic and slow moving vehicles.
