Portents Of Spring Lead Crowded Convention Center Calendar


 

Two portents of spring – the annual Raleigh Convention Center Boat Show and the Raleigh Spring Home show – will combine to bring an estimated 20,000 attendees to Downtown Raleigh. These are the two most popular events on the February calendar which will be one of the busiest yet for the new Raleigh Convention and Conference Center. The calendar includes:

  • February 1 through 3 – SciQuest’s 2010 Next Level Conference will be held at the convention center. The conference is expected to draw more than 250 people;
  • February 2 through 4 – The U.S. Department of Energy will hold its Solid State Lighting Research and Development workshop at the center. The meeting is expected to draw more than 350 people;
  • February 5 through 6 – Pampered Chef will hold its regional sales meeting at the Raleigh Convention and Conference Center. The meeting is expected to draw approximately 1,500 people;
  • February 7 through 9 – The Institute for Emerging Issues Forum will be held in Raleigh. The meeting is expected to draw more than 1,200 people.
  • February 11 through February 14 – The YMCA North Carolina Leadership Conference will be at the convention Center. The conference is expected to bring in more than 1,000 people;
  • February 12 through February 14 – The annual Raleigh Convention Center Boat Show is expected to draw more than 5,000 people downtown;
  • February 16 – Meals on Wheels of Wake County will hold its annual Fat Tuesday Benefit at the convention center. The benefit is expected to draw more than 500 people;
  • February 19 through 21 – One of the marquee events of the year will be held at the convention center. The Raleigh Spring Home Show is expected to draw approximately 15,000 people;
  • February 22 through February 23 – The Council for Entrepreneurial Development’s Bio Tech Conference is expected to draw approximately 600 people;
  • February 27 – Jawbreaker Productions will host a mixed-martial arts event at the convention center that is expected to draw approximately 2,500 people; and,
  • February 27 – The Human Rights Campaign Carolinas event will be held at the convention center and is expected to draw more than 1,600 people.
