Council Awards Contract For Halifax Park And Community Center
At today’s Raleigh City Council meeting, Clark Nexsen was awarded the contract for architectural and engineering services for the Halifax Park and Community Center. The contract is for more than $400,000 and includes design, development, and construction administration on the project. It also calls for the project to achieve Silver Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification.
The improvements to Halifax Park are part of the 2007 Parks and Recreation Bond project. The center, located at 1015 Halifax Street, was originally built in 1972. The renovations and expansion are to accommodate the recreational and educational needs of the changing neighborhood.
Clark Nexsen is expected to complete designs in 2010 and construction is expected to begin in 2011.
