Volunteer Position


Position Title: Senior Adult Walking Group Volunteer Leader

Position Description: Come be a volunteer and get fit at the same time! The Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department’s Senior/Adult Program is looking for individuals who are willing to lead a seniors walking group.  Choose the day(s) of the week, time and location you would like to lead a walking group for as part of our 3rd Annual 10-Week Walking Program, starting September 2 through November 13, 2009.  This free program is for participants 50+ .  We are looking for walking leaders to motivate participants, and to encourage them to regularly walk for at least 10 weeks.  Walk leaders can also continue to  keep walking with the groups after the 10-week program ends.  Hours vary depending on each walking group and location. 

The City Volunteer Program recruits volunteers to assist city departments and community agencies receiving city fundraising and support.
