Jesse Helms' funeral on July 8th at Hayes Barton Church will create delays and detours for Route 2 Falls of Neuse and Route 6 Crabtree. The funeral begins at 2:00 but the Route 2 detours will commence between 11:00 and 11:30.

Service Changes

# 1 Capital Service Change: Inbound will continue straight down Blount Street to R on Martin to Moore Square Effective 7/28/08

# 2 Falls of Neuse Service Change: Inbound will not go into the shopping center at Six Forks and Wake forest roads Effective 7/28/08

# 7 South Sanders: To serve the new Wal-Mart in Garner. From the connection point at Pecan/Wilmington will continue straight on Wilmington, to S. Saunders, staying straight on S. Saunders, go inside existing K-Mart stop, then back to S. Saunders, right on Purser, right on Rupert, left on Garner Station, cross S. Saunders to Mechanical and back on regular route. Effective 7/28/08

# 36 Garner Station: To serve the new Wal-Mart in Garner. Service Change same as # 7 South Saunders route. Will continue straight inbound on S. Saunders. Effective 7/28/08

Amtrak Requests: cat will service Amtrak requests only with the # 21 Caraleigh route before 7 PM and the # 11 Avent Ferry route after 7 PM.

Route 15 WakeMed Detours

Construction at WakeMed will prevent us from entering the west end of their campus until Spring 2009. From outbound New Bern Ave. Route 15 WakeMed and Route 34 WakeMed - Poole will turn right onto Donald Ross DR, left onto Luther Rd, right onto Falstaff Rd, left onto Swinburne Dr and right onto the WakeMed Campus Loop Road, to return to our regular route. Inbound Route 15 WakeMed will turn right from Swinburne Dr onto the WakeMed Campus Loop Rd and left onto New Bern Ave. We will be unable to serve any outbound stops between Donald Ross Dr and Swinburne Rd or inbound stops on the Campus Loop Road west of Swinburne Dr.

Route 19 Apollo Heights Detour
Effective June 11, 2008 Sungate Blvd will be closed until mid-September due to a road construction project. This street, including the VA Clinic, is served by Route 19 Apollo Heights. We will not be serving Sungate during the road construction nor will we be able to have signs in either direction on Sunnybrook by Sungate. Route 19 will proceed north on Sunnybrook from Poole Rd, turn right on Carl Sandburg, turn around in the cul-de-sac and come back up Carl Sandburg to the stop in front of the Employment Security Commission (ESC). From here the bus will return to its regular route. The stop at the ESC will be the closest stop to the VA Clinic.
